Here's my new painting, "The Black Flame", inspired by Hocus Pocus for tonight's Crazy 4 Cult show opening in Los Angeles at Gallery1988 .

"Hocus Pocus" was one of my favorites growing up, and I still need to watch it every year at Halloween!

Keep those virgins away from the Black Flame Candle!

"Amphisbaena"
8 x 10 inch painting, 10 x 11.5 inches overall
mixed media (acrylic on birch panel, polymer clay, faux fur, etc)
2012
$400.00
available HERE

(details)

This is the collaboration between Heather Gargon and I for Modern Eden's Allied Forces show.
I did the painting based on Amphisbaena, the mythical two headed creature, and Heather made the cool bat on the frame.

I really love Heather's work, so I was very excited when she agreed to collaborate with me on this.  I love the way it came out!
It's available now at Modern Eden, along with many other amazing pieces.
Doubleparlour's solo show is incredible also, and is showing now too!

Here's my two pieces for "Get The Lead Out III"  which will be:

Friday, September 9th, 2011
6pm-9pm
Echo Echo Gallery, Seattle
8537 Greenwood Ave
Seattle, WA 98103

The curator, Ally Takeuchi is currently taking pre-show offers on the pieces, so if you're interested, please don't hesitate to contact her.  You'll make my 91 degree day.

I love how adorable this bat came out, I don't usually make paintings that are just cute without a skull or something, so that was a bit of a challenge for me.

And I love the little drawing with the matte and frame.  The matte was another departure for me, which I hope to utilize again in the future.

Ah, well, no time to rest, I must get back to painting.  I've got some big things in the making, and not even this ninety-one degree day in Buffalo will let me rest.

Fortunately I've got my Clamato/Blue Light/lime juice mixture to keep me right.
