Coming Soon! Häxa Pins and Mini Paintings!

"Häxa" means "Witch" in Swedish, and this little black kitty is based on my own rescue kitten of the same name.

This one sits upon a spell book, casting a hex and wearing a pentagram about her neck.
Häxa is a 39mm/1.54 inches tall soft enamel lapel pin, whose base material is iron, and has tones of gray, black and white, with nickel plating and a clutch pin on the back.
She is designed by Cory Benhatzel.

Häxa is a limited edition of 100 pieces, each pin comes bagged, on a hand-numbered backing card with artwork by the artist, and a signed 4 x 6 inch postcard with matching art.

Häxa pin is $10 USD plus shipping from USA.

Postcard Drawings

Here's my three postcards for the PostcArt show at Avant Garde Tattoo and Art Gallery in Milano, Italy.
For this show, each artist was to make a piece on a postcard from their hometown, or where they live or identify with.  I chose three postcards from Buffalo, New York, which is my hometown and current town.
I drew a few animals that live in our area; ones that I see often in our yard!

Each postcard in the show is available for only 50 euros ($57) and is available HERE .

Here's my Game of Thrones tribute for "Lord of the Thrones" show, opening tonight at Spoke Art in San Francisco.  For this show artists were asked to make a piece based on the on-screen adaptations of Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, or both.
Being a fan of both, I had to go with GoT because I'm a pretty big nerd about it!
I've read all the books, own the blue rays and my dog is named...Ghost.
So yeah, it was a no-brainer.

And that's who I decided to depict in this piece; my favorite direwolf, Ghost.  The three-eyed raven (the bird, not the man) is perched on his back, and they are surrounded by weirwood leaves, from the Stark's godwood forest.

Here's my piece for "30 Years Later", opening tonight at Gallery 1988 in LA.
My painting is based not only on Labyrinth's Sir Didymus and Jareth (one of my favorite childhood/teenage movies) but a tribute to my fallen hero, David Bowie.
His recent death was such a blow, even though nothing can ever touch his legacy, and the impact that he made on my young life.

Sonic and Tails

"Sonic and Tails"
acrylic and metallic acrylic paint on wooden pixel heart
12 x 12 x .75 inches
$800.00
2016
available HERE

For "Pixel Hearts" show at Gallery 1988, curated by Chogrin.

For this show, all the artists were given an identical wooden pixel heart canvas and asked to create a piece inspired by video games.  For mine I chose Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails because I really wanted to recreate them in my style.

Truth be told, I tried Sonic once at a friend's house as a child, but really I was a Nintendo girl!  Nevertheless it was really inspiring to recreate these characters and the heart panel was a fun, challenging space to work on, and very high quality.

The whole show looks awesome together!
